½ | pound sweet Italian sausage or extra-lean ground beef |
½ | cup chopped yellow onion |
½ | cup chopped green pepper |
24 | ounces tomato sauce |
1 10 | ounce container Philadelphia Italian Cheese & Herb Cooking Creme, divided |
1 | cup shredded Mozzarella, divided |
3 | cups cooked pasta like penne or macaroni |
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Cook the pasta according to package directions and set aside.
3. In a skillet brown the meat and the onions together until the until the meat is browned and cooked through. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and ¾ cup of the cooking creme. Sprinkle in the mozzarella and stir until melted. Pour the cooked pasta into the sauce and stir to coat.
4. Pour the mixture into a large ovenproof baker or, like I did, slip an ovenproof skillet right into the oven. Bake for 20 minutes and serve hot.
This pasta dish is best served with a green vegetable or salad!
10 minutes prep time, 30 minutes cook time
