1 | cup all-purpose flour |
1 | cup whole wheat flour |
1 | teaspoon kosher salt |
1 | teaspoon baking soda |
2 | sticks unsalted butter |
¾ | cup granulated sugar |
¾ | cup dark brown sugar |
2 | teaspoons vanilla extract |
2 | large eggs |
8 | ounces dark chocolate, cut into large chunks |
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. In a large bowl stir together the flours, salt and baking soda and set aside.
3. In a large mixer cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. About 2 minutes. Then add the eggs, and vanilla and mix well.
4. With the mixer on low add the dry ingredients and mix until just incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
5. Place the cookie dough onto lined cookie sheets in heaping tablespoons at least 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until brown and firm. Cool on a wire rack and serve!
For a sweeter twist serve a scoop of ice cream between each cookie!

Despite the deeper flavor and darker chocolate chips my daughter totally loved theseĀ healthier cookies!
