Recipe

Classic Crescent Cookies

makes 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients

1 cup finely ground walnuts
2 sticks unsalted butter
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, sifted
½ cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for dusting
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

2. Place the walnuts and butter in the mixer and stir to incorporate. Then add in the flour, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla extract and beat everything together, starting on low speed and increasing to high as the flour gets incorporated. Once the dough forms stop the mixer.

3. Pinch off pieces of dough and form them into balls about 1 ½-inches round. Then form them into little crescent shapes. Line them up on lined baking sheets about 1-inch apart.

4. Bake them for about 25 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown and the tops are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Once they are completely cool dust the cookies with confectioners’ sugar and serve.
