12 | leaves fresh basil, completely dried |
4 | sprigs thyme |
4 | sprigs rosemary |
4 sprigs oregano
| tablespoon kosher salt |
1 | teaspoon freshly cracked pepper |
3 | cups good quality olive oil |
1. Divide the sprigs up between 2 12-ounces bottles. Add the kosher salt and pepper to the olive oil and pour it into the glass jars until they are each nearly full.
This delicious oil is great for dipping bread or vegetables. It is also terrific when tossed with pasta and light dishes like shrimp or scallops! To make new flavors switch up the herbs and feel free to add sundried tomatoes or hot pepper flakes to make new flavors.
15 minutes prep time
This is always a hit when I give it as a gift. Consider using vintage glass bottles for a particularly striking effect.
