White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies: Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Cookie Giveaway {Naptime Special}
Last month my friend Ariana from OXO Good Grips told me the story about Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Started by two OXO employees when their son, Liam, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2, it is a non-profit organization that supports pediatric cancer, the number one cause of death by disease of children in the US. Sadly, Liam passed away in late January after a 4 year battle with cancer. In order to honor what would have been Liam’s 7th birthday, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has announced a call to action for 700 bake sales in May and Glad has stepped forward to match all money raised by Cookies’ bake sales in the month of May up to $225,000.
To honor Liam’s Mom Gretchen, the founder of Cookies and Director of PR at OXO, a company with which I work frequently, today I am hosting a virtual bake sale on The Naptime Chef. I recently developed this cookie recipe when cleaning out the contents of my baking pantry (half-used bag of cranberries, bingo!, white chocolate – throw it in!) and am giving away three bags of 1 dozen cookies each to three lucky readers. Instructions for entering are below. I am also pledging to donate the cost of the ingredients and of baking the cookies to CfKC in honor of Naptime Chef readers.
To honor Liam, and all the children battling cancer around the world, I urge you to leave a comment below to enter to win a bag of cookies. I also hope you will pause for a moment after reading this to send warm thoughts to those in need of support during their difficult time. Then, print out this recipe, bake a batch and hold a bake sale and donate the proceeds to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Or, give the batch to someone in your life who is in need of help and support. You can even go on the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer website and send a bag of cookies to someone you love, just because. I leave it up to you to decide the best way to help someone in your community.
To enter to win your very own bag of homemade Naptime Chef cookies (which will be authentically baked during naptime):
1. Leave a comment sharing your favorite baked good to buy at a bake sale.
2. Join the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Facebook community.
3. Join The Naptime Chef Facebook community.
4. Sign up for The Naptime Chef newsletter (upper left hand corner)
5. Contest runs from May 10th at 7:00am ET through May 17th at 11:49pm ET. Winners will be selected by random.org
My favorite baked good would be: fresh bread/rolls. My hubby and kids would say chocolate chip cookies
Have been a naptimechef FB fan foreva!
If it were there, definitely a pizzelle. I love how delicate and light they are.
Liked Cookies for Kids’ Cancer on FB.
Also liked Naptime Chef on FB!
I got a cookie at a Christmas bake sale that had white chocolate and I think cranberries in it – it was the best COOKIE ever! I am hoping maybe this is similar or the same cookie! And, it always seems that rice krispy treats at bake sales are better than the ones I make. Love to Liam’s momma!
Ohh…gosh…thank you so much. Liam loved cooking, especially baking. Actually, he loved everyone and everything. He would have loved to help bake these cookies and delighted in sheer pleasure and joy giving them to lucky readers.
XO
Gretchen, Liam’s Mommy
I love Cookies for Kids Cancer! A friend and I are holding a bake sale on May 21st to honor Liam and so many other warriors. Your cookies look fabulous!!
What a wonderful thing to do to raise awareness of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a phenomenal nonprofit. Gretchen, Liam’s mommy, is my dear friend and a constant source of inspiration. My favorite thing to buy at a bake sale is definitely anything with chocolate chips! THANK YOU for doing this! You are a Good Cookie!
This is just the sweetest thing! You and your cookies are wonderful. =) I love when bake sales have pumpkin/zucchini/carrot/banana muffins or breads. Jackpot!
Anything sweet, especially when it’s for such an amazing cause! You are good cookie indeed!

We <3 Cookies for Kids Cancer! They're such an amazing organization and they have such good cookies!
My personal favorite item to get at a bake sale is a toss up between the home made oatmeal cookie, soft chocolate chip cookies, or of course the original classic brownie.
I adored Liam and his family is AMAZING. You know what else is pretty darn good…blondies. Favorite bake sale item ever.
What a nice thing you are doing and for such a special cause. I always buy chocolate chip cookies at a bake sale, they are my favorite.
My heart goes out to Liam’s family for their immeasurable loss.
What a very kind thing you’re doing! I’m not on Facebook but hope I can still enter…
I have the deepest sympathy for this poor family. This is such a wonderful thing that you are doing to help support them at this difficult time.
You say to print out the recipe, but I can’t seem to find it. Can you provide a link, or tell me where to find it? Thank you.
I love buying homemade cookies at bake sales, preferably types I’ve not had before. And they can’t be fake-n-bake cookies either. I can taste that. I have a friend who has Stage IV colon cancer (at 41). She is on a very intense, very strict diet that doesn’t include cookies or any dairy, but it makes me smile thinking of her BEING ABLE TO HAVE a sweet cookie.
