3 Naturally Delicious Cheesy Recipes for Labor Day Entertaining
This weekend marks the end of summer entertaining for us. Next week, we’ll be back in full school mode and our simple get-togethers with friends will be less frequent than they have been for the past few months. To send summer out with a bang, I want to have a few friends over and serve some easy dishes that won’t take long to make. I am going to take the opportunity to showcase a lot of my favorite Arla Dofino cheeses since they are a great alternative to processed cheeses and are made with few ingredients, plus, I know everyone will love them! Here is what I’m planning to make:
Zucchini Bites with Fontina. These bites are based on my now famous Zucchini Bites from a few years ago. They’ve proven incredibly popular time and time again. I used Arla Dofino Fontina in them because the cheese melts beautifully and complements the mild zucchini. Stir ½ cup of shredded Arla Dofino Fontina into the batter. Click here for the recipe.
Gouda and Apricot Jam Bites. I am a big fan of pairing cheeses with sweet jams. It is such an easy appetizer that everyone loves. To make them, I select a buttery water cracker and top it with a thin spread of my favorite jam. In this case, I used apricot. Then I top it with a slice of creamy Arla Dofino Gouda. I assemble a whole platter like this and everyone can eat as many as they want.
Gouda Chili Lime Nachos. It is always wise to have a kid-friendly appetizer on hand in case you are entertaining other families. These easy nachos are perfect and are made more flavorful by using Arla Dofino Gouda with Chili Lime. It has just the right amount of spice and citrus to make them truly authentic. Shower a big plate of tortilla chips with plenty of coarsely shredded Gouda with Chili Lime and microwave for 15 seconds to melt. Then top with mild salsa and serve!
I hope you all beautiful and happy Labor Day, full of lots of easy entertaining with friends. See you next week!

Gosh these bites look soooo good!
THanks!! They are a personal favorite. 🙂
Look so good… grated a huge block of fontina last night & portioned & froze it, so now if I have another ripe zucchini, I’m good to go!
Karen – that is great idea. So glad you liked it!
