Day 2: The 2012 Naptime Chef Favorite Things Holiday Giveaway! {Naptime Simple Tips}
Today I am thrilled to bring you my foodie holiday gift guide for 2012! Not only is this a gift guide of a few of my favorite foodie items, I also have the great fortune of being able to giveaway one of each of the items below. That’s right, it is kind of like Kelsey’s favorite foodie finds for the holiday season Oprah-style. I had so much fun putting this list together and hope it gives you some great gift ideas. Stay tuned for more holiday shopping tips and giveaways later this week!
1) Sarsaparilla Syrup from Kaufman Mercantile: I am not a big soda drinker but making homemade root beer floats with this natural soda syrup is right up my alley. A bottle would be the perfect stocking stuffer for your spouse or older kids. You could have so much fun making root beer and pouring it over freshly fallen snow for a sweet winter treat.
2) These gorgeous bowls from Kaufman Mercantile (one of my favorite online stores) are perfect for mixing up all kinds of batters and doughs with grandma. They are also pretty enough for displaying fresh fruit or vegetables in your kitchen.
3) A bag of Marge Granola (or the whole flavor trio!): My friend Megan makes the BEST homemade artisanal crunchy-salty-sweet granola in the whole world. Order a bag for the cereal lover in your life. With a shelf life of 8 weeks it is perfect for sending back to college with your kids, eating with warm milk during a snowstorm, or sprinkling over ice cream. (Also, stay-tuned for next year when Megan’s first cookbook about breakfast cereals is published in time for Christmas gift-giving!)
4) A box of Fannie May Sea Salt Caramel Strawberries: I love this surprising twist on an old classic. The salty sweet chocolate-caramel coating elevates the flavor of the amazingly ripe strawberries. They are the perfect gift for friends, colleagues, or sending to the in-laws you won’t be seeing this holiday season.
5) A selection of Whole Foods Market Chocolates: Giving chocolate is always a great idea but it is even better when you give them from Whole Foods Market. These chocolates are priced perfectly at between $7.99 and $12.99 per box and come in so many varieties. I could see giving a box of Whole Foods Market Milk Chocolate Covered Marshmallows to your neighbor with kids, and the Whole Foods Market Caramels Fleur de Sel to a respected colleague. For the hostess with the mostess bring along a box of Whole Foods Market Truffle Roasted Walnuts. She can set them on her mantel in a pretty silver bowl for guests to nibble on.
6) Peppermint Crunch from King Arthur Flour: Because there is nothing better than decorating your holiday baked goods with delicious crushed candy canes. This is the ideal stocking stuffer for kids and adults alike. If you open your stockings before breakfast you can even sprinkle some on your french toast!
7) Pineapple Juice Powder & Flour from King Arthur Flour: The baker in your life will adore this cool jar of pineapple juice powder. It will quickly become the “secret ingredient” to their most successful baked goods. Best of all, King Arthur Flour is also throwing in a coupon for a free bag of flour to get that special someone baking in the New Year!
I am thrilled that the following items from above have been graciously donated for this giveaway: One 10-inch mixing bowl from Kaufman Mercantile, one bottle of Sarsaparilla Soda Syrup, one bag of Marge Granola, one box of Fannie May Sea Salt Caramel Strawberries, one box each of the following Whole Foods Chocolate: Caramel Fleur de Sel, Organic Truffles, Truffle Roasted Walnuts, Pates de Fruit Gems, Belgian Petit Bouches, Milk Chocolate Marshmallows, Dark Chocolate Marshmallows, one jar of Peppermint Crunch from King Arthur Flour, one jar of Pineapple Juice Powder from King Arthur Flour, and a coupon for one bag of free King Arthur All-Purpose Flour.
