Spicy Avocado Yogurt Dipping Sauce with Fage {Powernap}

Spicy Avocado Fage Yogurt Dipping Sauce via The Naptime Chef

Today I am thrilled to be working with FAGE Total Greek yogurt. I have been a longtime fan of the authentic tangy Greek yogurt and I consider it a staple ingredient for many of my favorite recipes. Not only does it impart a delicious tang into anything I am making, it also adds a lot a protein while being low in calories and fat. I swear that using it to bind chicken salad is the only way to go. My husband swears it is best when served with granola and honey first thing in the morning. During my first pregnancy I ate tons of it which perhaps explains why my daughter is obsessed with it too!

To create a new recipe with FAGE Total I decided it was finally time to experiment with something I’ve always wanted to try, making a creamy, tangier guacamole to go with our favorite Mexican meals. Of course, I love regular guac – who doesn’t – but I’ve always secretly pined for a smoother, looser guacamole-like sauce to go with our winter dishes like enchiladas and taquitos. Since these days I am a spicy food craving maniac pregnant lady, I also decided to add a little bit of minced jalapeno to the dip for an authentic spicy taste. Luckily, whipping up the dip took very little time and with the right amount of FAGE Total I achieved just the consistency I was hoping for. I made it in the food processor so it was perfectly smooth and creamy and served it in a bowl alongside our chicken enchiladas. My daughter loved it so much I made a second batch the next day and served it with some sweet potato tortilla chips for an after school snack. I had no compunction about giving it to her since I knew it was loaded with protein and healthy fats from the avocado. She didn’t even seem to mind the spice that much. As far as our new favorite dipping sauce goes this is it. Step aside hummus, our avocado-yogurt sauce is here to stay.

This awesome dip is super versatile. Thinned out with more yogurt it would even make a terrific salad dressing.
