3 Things to Make with New Green Ball Jars + Giveaway

Spring Green Jars

It is time to think spring. I am ready to put this winter and all of the snow days and icicles behind me. Luckily, a pretty little package of Ball Heritage Collection Spring Jars arrived recently and put me right in the mood. The cheery green color of this vintage-style jars are perfect for spring. If I hadn’t been the mood for more marmalade I might have used them as flower vases for our dining room table and pretended it was summer!

Today I thought I’d share three great things you could do with these beautiful jars and give away a set. (yay!) With jars this pretty and springy it is almost a crime to use them just for canning. Here are a few things I plan to use them for this spring:

Blueberry Muffin Mix

Blueberry Muffin Mix to-go: I love making homemade baking mixes and have been working on several for the new book. This jar is ideal for gift homemade mixes to friends when berry season arrives. Attach instructions on how to bake the muffins with fresh berries added in!

Raspberry Water

Make Berry Flavored Water: I am a big fan of healthy infused waters for staying hydrating all winter spring. This jar is the perfect size for filling with water and a few raspberries or strawberries. You could even use cucumber! Let the berries infused in flat or sparkling water for at least one hour and enjoy.

Gift Packaging for Granola: I am always looking for pretty packaging for homemade granola to give to my daughter’s teachers. This jar would be such a pretty container, especially with a colorful design lid! I would wrap it with a simple strand of colorful twine and it would be all set to give.

To get you in the mood for summer preserving Ball Jars is generously giving away a set of 6 Heritage Collection Jars and a set of Design Series Colorful Lids with Bans to one lucky reader! Here is how to enter to win:

1) Share your favorite way to use ball jars. What do you make? Do you gift them?

2) Follow Kelsey Banfield on Facebook.

3) Contest runs from February 25th at 7:00am ET through March 3rd at 7:00am ET. Winner will be announced in the March 7th newsletter! Good luck!
