Infused Waters & Teas for Summer

Strawberry Iced Tea

Last month my friends at Ball Canning sent me some of their newest products for summer. I immediately fell in love with the lid that screws onto their wide mouth jars and is intended for infusing beverages. I try to drink lots of water and teas in the summer but I stay away from sugary drinks as much as possible to avoid the unwanted calories. Instead I infuse my beverages with natural flavors like vegetables, herbs, and fruits. This new lids makes it so easy to do! Here are a few flavor combinations I’ve been enjoying lately:

Went went strawberry picking last weekend and the berries are super sweet. I sliced a few up and added them to my tea to make Strawberry Iced Tea (above).

cucumber Water

Cucumber water is always refreshing. These days I’ve been adding a little basil too. Cucumber Basil Water is amazingly soothing and refreshing after a day in the hot sun.

Blueberry Lemon Water

Blueberry might seem like an unlikely flavoring for water but they really taste amazing. I crush them very lightly to release some of the juices. Then add a lemon wedge for a touch of citrus.

Mint Lemon Water

Sometimes sparkling water just tastes amazing with a lot of lemon and a little mint.
