Classic Lobster Rolls {Naptime Everyday}
When it comes to lobster rolls I take them classic New England style. I usually only eat one or two a year and prefer – no, demand – that they are of the highest quality. The good news is that demanding high quality does not mean undertaking complicated cooking techniques. It just means buying the freshest lobster possible, using delicious high quality butter (or mayonnaise if you are in camp mayo when it comes to lobster rolls), and a little celery for crunch and flavor.
To complete our classic lobster rolls we also use the softest available white split-top buns. We toasted them just so add a thin spread butter and sprinkle of salt. I know there are a lot of butter in these rolls – which is exactly why I only eat them once or twice a year!
Last week we enjoyed our first fresh lobster rolls of the season on Martha’s Vineyard. They were sweet, salty, buttery and rich and tasted like summer. Here is our method for making them at home. They are a cinch to make during naptime, or whenever you have downtime during the day. Or, you can set aside some time before dinner to do it in one fell swoop while sipping a glass of wine. Whatever you choose be sure to relax and enjoy the process, it is summer, after all, and the food will taste better for it.

We make them at our house on Martha’s Vineyard! 🙂
